Utila Island is located about
22 miles northwest of Roatan. It is another popular destination for
scuba divers and sport fisherman. The island is famous for its
population of whale sharks that migrate through the deep channel
between Utila and the mainland of Honduras.
The waters around Utila are also full of big game fish such as marlin,
tuna, wahoo and barracuda. A short hours ride from Roatan, Utila is a
popular destination for a day trip of fishing and snorkeling. The small
town of Utila Town also offers food and shopping.
